A Familiar Family Affair in 2023

In January this year we congratulated our very wonderful Kate Donohue on becoming a Jersey Advocate. At the same time as she was admitted to the bar, founding Partner Advocate Barbara Corbett's husband James Corbett was also admitted as a Jersey Advocate. While James had been senior Barrister and KC to Barbara for many years, he is now the junior!

Today, Kate's husband, an English Barrister since 2002, was also admitted to the Jersey bar, hot on her heels. They have both worked very hard and passed their exams first time with Kate winning the top award in the family exams. 

The Corbett Le Quesne team went to court to watch the swearing in and support Jonathan. 

"It was a very proud moment for me" said Kate. "Our daughter was there in January watching me with Jonathan sat with her, knowing he still had several exams to come.  For him to pass the exams so soon after and for us to be able to reclaim our lives is very exciting but it was very special for her to see her father robed up in the Royal Court in the same year."
