We are delighted to be hosting Anyoli Martinez for a three-week studentship/internship in association with the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL).
Anyoli (23) is from Puerto Rico, and is studying for a law degree at the Law Faculty of the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. She is also doing a MA in Legal Culture with the University of Girona, Spain.
The IAFL prides itself on offering internships all over the world, and with Advocate Corbett being a fellow, we thought it was too good an opportunity to miss. The IAFL managed the recruitment process and Anyoli, as the successful applicant, arrived in Jersey last weekend.
Anyoli said: “I first became interested in the internship at Corbett Le Quesne when I spoke to a member of the International Academy of Family Lawyers about it. Jersey, Channel Islands was not a place I had heard of before and I found myself fascinated with the picturesque island, its coast and rich history. I was also especially eager to be an intern at the firm since I have a lot of interest in family law and hope to practise family law in the future. Furthermore, I thought it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn about the judicial system in Jersey, especially in the area of family law and being able to compare it with my system in Puerto Rico. I look forward to learning more from the firm, about Jersey law and the processes of its courts.”
Advocate Corbett said: “We are really pleased to have Anyoli with us for the next three weeks. She is a determined young woman who is passionate about her future career in law, and we hope to inspire her further along that road. The IAFL internships are very prestigious and her having won a place is testament to her hard work and ambition in the field.”
