Shortlisted: Law Firm of the Year Jersey!

We are delighted and excited to announce that we have been shortlisted in the Citywealth IFC Awards in the prestigious category of Law Firm of the Year Jersey!

We are the smallest law firm in the category and one of the only teams without other offices around the world. This is a genuinely proud moment for us so congratulations to the whole team, led by the wonderful Barbara Corbett and Nick Le Quesne. 

Corbett Le Quesne specialise in family law and are known for campaigning for reform and equality in how people are treated, however they identify. However, since Advocates Barbara Corbett and Nick Le Quesne invited Simon Lofthouse to join them and establish a private client department in 2021 they have grown exponentially with Katie De Andrade, Kate Donohue, Jamie-Lee Morgan and Sarah Allchin all becoming part of the team.

Advocate Nick Le Quesne said “When we established Corbett Le Quesne in 2017 we couldn’t have anticipated that five years later we would be up against huge offshore law firms in a category like Law Firm of the Year Jersey. We have been very fortunate and worked incredibly hard and won various top family law awards over the years but being included in this list shows we have moved into a different category with our private client work.”

Simon Lofthouse commented “It has been a really exciting and enjoyable place to work and it is brilliant to have the freedom to try new things and work with so many dynamic people. The Trusts and the Family Conference we are holding this month is a sign of how much we have grown in a short time and we have so many ideas for the future.”

Advocate Barbara Corbett stated “We are hugely excited to be shortlisted in this category. We are known for our expertise in family law and this is the core of what we do. We are passionate about helping our clients resolve issues in a collaborative and pragmatic way where possible. The current divorce law in Jersey is outdated and almost forces people to start proceedings in a hostile way. I would like to take this opportunity to let people know that we are launching a campaign for no fault divorce to be introduced in Jersey. The UK implemented this last year and our international family conference in October will be focusing on this issue.”

This news comes hot on the heels of Partner Nick Le Quesne being shortlisted in the Citywealth Future Leaders Awards.

There is an online vote which counts for ten percent of the vote, the judges vote counts for ninety percent of the final outcome. All winners will be announced on the night at the awards gala dinner. The online vote is open for peers and clients, only one vote per category is permitted.
